Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Gitera — security and data, billing, and AI features.
General
Read access to actions, workflows, and runner information, plus webhook delivery for workflow events — the minimum needed to monitor pipelines. Gitera never writes to your source code. The exact scopes are listed during installation.
No. Gitera stores workflow run metadata and job logs — not repository source code. Workflow YAML files are read for policy checks and reusable-workflow analysis.
Run and job events arrive by webhook within seconds. Log lines become searchable shortly after a job completes. Historical run backfill after installation takes minutes to tens of minutes — logs are not backfilled, only runs that start after you connect have searchable logs.
Yes — a Gitera account can hold multiple organizations, each connected to its own GitHub organization, switched from the organization switcher.
Security & data
Only members of your account, controlled by role-based access. Tenant data is isolated at the database level — no other customer can reach it.
Per plan: 30 days (Free), 60 (Basic), 90 (Professional), 180 (Enterprise). Log storage is additionally capped per plan — see Plans and limits.
The GitHub App stops receiving events immediately. Account deletion removes stored runs, logs, and settings.
No. Logs and metadata are used only to provide the service to your organization.
Billing
Yes — an always-free tier with 3,000 workflow runs/month, 0.5 GB log storage, and 30-day retention. No time limit, no card required.
Settings → Subscription opens the customer portal where you can change plans, update payment details, view invoices, or cancel. Changes take effect per the portal's terms.
Processed workflow runs in the calendar month, across all connected repositories of the organization.
AI features
Answer questions about runs, logs, commits, costs, and runners; perform root-cause analysis; find similar past incidents; and — only after your confirmation — re-run jobs or dispatch workflows. It is read-only by default.
Basic (50 chats/day), Professional (200), and Enterprise (1000). The Free plan does not include it.
Questions and the relevant slices of run/log data are sent to the model provider to generate an answer; nothing is used to train models.
