Cost mismatch

Why the number on the Cost page differs from the GitHub invoice.

Gitera's cost analytics is an attribution estimate, not the invoice itself. Small differences are expected.

Common reasons

  • Runner multipliers — GitHub bills Windows and macOS at higher per-minute rates than Linux; verify the job's runner OS in the breakdown.
  • Billable vs wall-clock minutes — GitHub rounds job duration up to whole minutes per job; summing durations underestimates the bill.
  • Free-minute allowance — the included monthly minutes and storage on your GitHub plan are not subtracted from Gitera's estimates.
  • Unknown runner type — a run whose runner type cannot be determined contributes 0 to Gitera's cost; GitHub still bills it.
  • Time zone / window — the selected range may not align exactly with GitHub's billing month. Use current month for the closest match.
  • Artifacts and caching storage — billed separately; compare with the storage block, not the minutes charts.

If the gap is large (> ~10%), export the CSV and compare per-repository lines against the GitHub billing report — then contact support if a systematic gap remains.
