Troubleshooting

No data after install

You installed the GitHub App but the dashboard is empty — what the sync indicator means and how long to wait.

First check the sync indicator

The dashboard shows sync status. Both in progress and paused mean Gitera is still working through your history — paused is not an error, it is the sync pacing itself. Leave the window open and check back; large organizations take longer.

If the dashboard is still empty

  1. Confirm the app installed on the right organization — see GitHub App issues. Data appears only for the GitHub org the app is connected to.
  2. Check the repository scope — if the app sees only a subset of repositories, the rest will never appear.
  3. Give historical sync time. Recent runs arrive via webhook in seconds, but backfilling older runs takes minutes to tens of minutes. Keep in mind that logs are not backfilled — Log Search only covers runs that started after you connected.
  4. Check the time range filter — a 1h window can legitimately be empty if nothing ran recently. Switch to 30d.
  5. Reconnect the GitHub App — in Settings → GitHub integration, check each organization's status badge. Not Found means the app is not installed on that organization; use Reconnect GitHub App to re-run the installation flow.

If new runs are still not arriving

The webhook connection may be broken. In Settings → GitHub integration, confirm every organization shows Connected and the app is installed on the repositories you expect, then use Reconnect GitHub App. If runs still do not arrive, contact support with your organization name.
