Troubleshooting
Notifications not arriving
Slack or email alerts configured but never received — webhook, routing, spam, and threshold checks.
Slack
- Webhook revoked or deleted — recreate the Incoming Webhook in Slack and update the channel URL in Notifications → Slack channels.
- Wrong channel routing — repositories route to specific channels; a repo with no route uses the default channel (if configured).
- Test the webhook directly — a
curl -X POST <webhook-url> -d '{"text":"test"}'should post to the channel. If it does not, the problem is on the Slack side.
- Check spam/promotions folders first.
- Confirm the address is not unsubscribed — every alert email carries an unsubscribe link that may have been clicked.
- Verify Settings → Email preferences has the alert type enabled.
Threshold alerts never fire
- The threshold may simply not have been reached — e.g. 3 consecutive failures does not fire on
fail, success, fail. - Check the rule's scope (repository/workflow) — a rule scoped to
repo-aignores failures inrepo-b. - Rule counts are limited by plan; a rule beyond the limit cannot be created.
